1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and process your personal data in compliance with applicable data protection laws, protecting your privacy when you use BuycatVPN. In this policy, "we," "us," and "our," as well as "BuycatVPN," refer to Boycat Inc and Buycat Inc (collectively, the providers of the BuycatVPN service).

2. Our Services and Platform

BuycatVPN is currently available on the following platforms:

Desktop: Native apps for macOS, Windows, and Linux
Mobile: iOS and Android apps available on the App Store and Google Play
Browser Extension: Chrome and Firefox extensions with VPN proxy

All platforms are designed to protect your online privacy and security. Additional platforms are on our roadmap and will be announced when available.

3. What Information We Collect

Account Information

To use our App or Web-App, you must create a BuycatVPN account. This account serves as your identity for accessing our services. When you sign up, we ask for and store the following information ("stored data"):

Name: Your name (as provided)
Email Address: A valid email (used for account login and communication)
Password: Chosen by you (stored in encrypted form)
Payment Method: Details necessary to process your subscription payment

No additional personal information is collected or stored at signup beyond these items.

Support Data

If you contact us for support, we collect the information you provide (email, issue description). When submitting a ticket through the desktop app, basic device diagnostics are included automatically (OS version, hardware specs) to help us resolve your issue faster. This data is only used to answer your support request.

Crash Reports & Diagnostics

Mobile (iOS & Android): We use a crash reporting service that captures error context and, in some cases, session replays to help us reproduce and fix bugs. This data is used solely for diagnosing issues and is never used for advertising or profiling.
Desktop (macOS, Windows, Linux): The desktop app does not send crash reports or usage analytics externally. Any logs generated stay on your device.
Browser Extension: The extension offers optional, opt-in diagnostics (off by default). If you choose to enable them, anonymised feature-usage events are collected to help us improve the extension. You can change this at any time in the extension settings.
Support Tickets: When you submit a support request through the desktop app, we may collect technical diagnostic information about your device (OS version, hardware specs, network configuration) to help resolve your issue. This is only sent when you actively submit a ticket.
User Communications: Feedback from emails, live chat, and feedback forms that you choose to send us.

4. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not store any logs or records that could identify what you do online or expose your internet activity. Our systems are built from the ground up to ensure we have no sensitive data to share, even if we were legally compelled to do so. Specifically, BuycatVPN does NOT collect or log any of the following:

Your browsing activity (the websites you visit, searches, or anything you do online through the VPN)
VPN session logs that tie to you (e.g. no connection logs that could link your account to an IP address)
VPN server IP assignments (we do not keep records of which VPN IP you are assigned when connected)
Your original IP address and we do not store your IP address on our servers. Some in-app features (such as the location map when disconnected) may contact third-party services that can see your IP; we do not control their data practices.
Connection timestamps (no logging of the exact times you connect or disconnect)
Browsing history or specific content accessed via the VPN
DNS queries made by you while connected (we do not monitor your DNS requests)
Outgoing traffic or data content that you transmit through the VPN tunnel

In summary, when you use BuycatVPN, your online activities are invisible to us. We can't see or record what you do. Our processes and servers are engineered not to retain any of the above information.

Ad & Tracker Blocking: If you enable the optional ad and tracker blocking feature, domains are filtered locally within your VPN session to block ads and trackers. On desktop (Linux), this routes DNS queries through AdGuard's public DNS resolvers. The count of blocked items is shown in-app only and is never uploaded to our servers.

5. Services We Use

We use a small number of third-party services to operate BuycatVPN. Each receives only the minimum data needed for its specific function. We do not sell your data, use advertising networks, or share your information for any purpose other than operating the service.

Payments

Subscription payments are processed by Stripe (web/desktop) and the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (mobile). We never see or store your full card number.

Push Notifications (Mobile)

We use OneSignal to send you important service notifications on iOS and Android. We do not use push notifications for advertising.

Crash Reporting (Mobile)

We use Sentry on iOS and Android to capture crash reports and diagnose bugs. This may include device context and, in error cases, session replays. This data is never used for advertising or profiling.

Customer Support

Support tickets are handled via Freshdesk. When you submit a ticket through the desktop app, diagnostic device information is included to help resolve your issue.

5. How Long We Keep Your Data

Account data: Your email and account information is kept for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is permanently removed.

Support tickets: Closed support tickets and any associated diagnostic data are permanently deleted within 30 days of being closed.

7. Use of Stored Data

The limited information we do collect (as described in Section 3) is used to provide and enhance our services. We process this information for the following purposes:

Service Delivery: To provide, operate, and maintain the BuycatVPN service (for example, using your email/credentials to authenticate you and your payment info to process subscriptions).

Service Improvement: To improve, personalize, and expand our services and features based on aggregate usage patterns and feedback.

User Experience Analysis: To analyze performance and usage so we can enhance user experience and troubleshoot issues (e.g. identifying connection problems or crashes).

Communication: To communicate with you about the service. This may include customer support responses, important service updates or notifications, and occasional marketing or promotional messages (you can opt out of marketing communications).

Transaction Processing: To process your payments and handle billing or refund requests.

Account Management: To maintain and improve account management and related administrative processes (for instance, keeping track of active subscriptions or enforcing fair usage policies).

Enforcing Terms & Legal Rights: To enforce our Terms of Service and other legal agreements, and to protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property (or those of our users and business partners) as required by law.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data. We respect these rights regardless of where you are based.

Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Deletion: You can delete your account and associated data at any time from your account settings or by visiting boycat.io/delete-my-account.

Correction: You can update your account information (such as your email address) directly in the app or by contacting us.

Opt-out of diagnostics: On the browser extension, optional diagnostics are off by default and can be changed at any time in extension settings. Mobile crash reporting can be discussed with our support team.
